On April 15^th, Zhang Ningkang, a 1981 alumnus majoring in Applied Chemistry, donated ?3 million to his alma mater to establish Jing Minxue Fund. SWPU Vice President Li Dehai attended the donation ceremony.

According to the agreement, Jing Minxue Fund will be used to support the development of SWPU students and young teachers.

The fund is named after Jing Minxue, the late wife of Zhang Ningkang and an outstanding alumnus of Applied Chemistry in 1981. “My wife recorded her unforgettable time studying at Southwest Petroleum University in her diary before her death. As alumni, both of us hope to do our best to support our alma mater.” Zhang Ningkang reviewed with affection Jing Minxue's university life in SWPU and hoped that the fund could play a role in the development of SWPU students and faculty.
