Recently, the Society of Exploration Geophysics (SEG) announced the list of global award winners for 2025, and Professor Huang Xuri from the School of Geoscience and Technology at Southwest Petroleum University won the SEG Presidential Award.
Professor Huang Xuri is the Executive Director of the Society of Exploration Geophysics (SEG) in China, and has long been engaged in interdisciplinary research on methods and technologies for the integration of geophysics and reservoir engineering. He has received the 2009-2010 SPE (Society of Petroleum Engineers) Outstanding Lecturer Award, the 2014 SEG Honorary Lecturer Award, the 2016 SPG (Society of Petroleum Geophysicists, a branch of Chinese Petroleum Society) Outstanding Lecturer Award, and 4 provincial and ministerial level awards. He has authorized 12 patents and 31 software copyrights, and published over 100 papers in journals such as Geophysics and Applied Geophysics, as well as attended international academic conferences, and participated in the writing of 2 books.

Among them, the SEG Presidential Award is established to recognize individuals' outstanding contributions to SEG and their leadership in advancing SEG's mission.
