On 31^stJuly, the 27^thChina University Tennis Championships Finals closed in Shanghai University, and Li Yang/Xu Kailun from Southwest Petroleum University won the 3^rdplace in Men's Doubles. This is the best result of SWPU delegation in this event. After the match, Li Yang and Xu Kailun were awarded the technical title of “National First-level Athletes”.

Li Yang/Xu Kailun sailed through the first rounds of the tournament. In the knockout round of 16 to 8, they won 7: 3 against last year's champion and the No.1 seed of the tournament, Renmin University of China delegation, to keep the last champion out of the eight. In the quarter-finals, the team of Li Yang/Karen Xu won a hard-fought match against the counterparts from Shanghai University of Finance and Economics with a score of 7: 6. In the semi-final, they lost to Minzu University of China with the score of 4: 6 and won the 3^rdplace. (Han Fei)
